Six students from Amity Regional High School won awards this year. Their artwork is on display at the Silpe Gallery at Hartford Art School (University of Hartford) from January 14, 2018 through February 2, 2018. These six students attended an award ceremony at the Lincoln Theater (on University of Hartford's campus) on January 28th, where they were acknowledged with awards.

The Jamie A. Hulley Arts Foundation (http://jamiehulleyartsfund.org/) recently awarded Amity Middle School Bethany 8th grade Social Studies teacher, Marika Wissink, $1,000 for a special inter-disciplinary project. Ms. Wissink’s students on will work with visiting artist Heather Stoltz February 22nd to create a Fiber Arts Project where students create fiber art to demonstrate their learning of the 19th century social reform movements.
Each year thousands of schools in the United States participate in the National Geographic Bee using materials prepared by the National Geographic Society. Nine students from Amity Middle School Bethany Campus and their coach attended the Math Counts Chapter Competition at Yale University on February 3, competing along with 110 students from 14 other schools.
