World Language
The four-year pathways for World Language courses at Amity Regional High School are tailored to each student’s entry point, which varies based on individual experience and background. Factors influencing placement include prior study of the language, exposure outside of school, or coursework completed in a different school district. Placement decisions may also be guided by teacher recommendations, placement assessments, and input from parents or students.
Students with prior language experience or those transferring to Amity from another district are encouraged to contact their school counselor to schedule a placement exam. Final placement is determined in collaboration with the department chair to ensure students are enrolled in the course level that best supports their proficiency and progress.
