AMSO student won the Jr. Scholastic Map Man Competition!
AMSO student Nava Ismail-Beigi, won the Jr. Scholastic Map Man Competition. This is a national competition that challenges students to demonstrate a variety of geography and artistic skills.
"For the past 31 years, Junior Scholastic®, a social studies magazine for students in grades 6-8, has brought map skills to life for middle school students nationwide with its popular geography contest. The Can You Find Mapman®? contest challenges students to correctly read a map and answer five questions to determine the location of Mapman—Junior Scholastic’s senior cartographer, Jim McMahon—and then to draw a map of that place."
