On Thursday, October 18, 2018, we will host our Hall of Honor/Hall of Fame event that will recognize outstanding former Amity Regional High School graduates and coaches who have exemplified excellence and honor in the areas of academics, the arts, and athletics. The celebration will begin at 5:30 pm at the Grassy Hill Country Club in Orange, CT.
JE Consult ascertained data by holding 14 focus meetings (one-on-one, small group, elected officials, administration, staff, board members, and community forums) and by synthesizing information which was gleaned from over 120 R5 members who participated in the online survey. In summary, the findings listed here represent the contribution and opinion from staff, parents, board of education members, the office of the first selectmen, and community members.
Frank D’Amico taught physical education for 35 years in the Amity school system. He coached football, basketball, and track. Frank was a great coach and teacher who always stressed the importance of teamwork. He simply loved what he did and always encouraged and motivated his students to be active and do their best. He personified the true spirit of Amity in everything he did. Each year the physical education staff at Amity Middle School in Bethany chooses one 8th grade male and one 8th grade female to honor Frank D’Amico.
