Photograms : Special Affects
Solarization

Photograms:

Photograms will transport you back to your childhood. They are quick and easy and look spectacular. Try to remember when you first discovered shadows. To produce a photogram you must plan ahead with clear goals and objectives. A Photogram is a silhouetted shape, resembling the opposite of a shadow. You will search for an object that will create an interesting shadow. The image appears white while the backgound is black. Items such as flowers and jewelery make very good photograms. You still have to produce a test strip with the goal of having a variety of values of gray within each of your shadows from your images. These photograms are made without negatives or cameras. They are developed in the printing chemicals the same as negatives are printed.
