Powerpoint Summary Photo I Students are doing this project for information purposes only. They will research the assigned artist/photographer, determine their background through biographical and historical searches. The resulting information will be scattered throughout a powerpoint presentation which discusses the 10 images that the student find best represents their Mise-en-Scene (Look and Feel) or photographer's style. The power point will be 10-12 pps. and animated to insure that during the ORAL part of the presentation on exam day their peers attention will be controlled and captured. Students will discuss Observational notes they understand using the Compositional Elements for Photography we learn in class or Principals and Elements of Art and Design. The must explain how these concpets apply to each image. They must share with their peers Commentary, what they think about their photographer's work. If they like it tell us why, if not tell us why not. A complete Bibliography inclusive of active hyperlinks is to be the last page. Photo II and III students will investigate many famous photographers through the use of books, media, and the Internet. Students will determine the Mise-en-scene (Look and Feel) the photographer is communicating through their images and synthesize their selected artist's style into their own photo shoot they set up. Factors such as setting, lighting conditions, focal point placement, space/form relationships, realism verse manipulated surrealism, symmetry and asymetry, composition, point of view, and perspective are some of the elements students focus on replicating. Utilizing, both digital imagery and traditional 35 mm film production, students will produce images that reflect and compliment their artist's work. Using Microsoft Power Point students will develop a cohesive presentation that combines their images and their artist's pictures discussing similarities and differences. Support information such as historical background, observational notes and commentary are infused in the presentation. Oral presentations, with music of the genre, is the culmination of this project.
