Assignments in order: 1-9
1. Learn how to use an Enlarger and other darkroom equipment to create a properly exposed enlargement
2. Learn how to create 2 totally different looking enlargements from the same negative by CROPPING
3. Learn how using FILTERS can increase the contrast of your image making blacks blacker and whites whiter
4. Learn how to correct a part of an enlargement that comes out too dark or too light when the majority is even
5. Learn how to invert an image to create a REVERSE image that looks spooky
6. Learn how to SOLARIZE an image using the Sabbatier Affect which will add a chrome like affect with halos
7. Learn how to create a PHOTOGRAM either by itself using an object or in conjunction with a negative
8. Learn how to colorize your image using TONING for a sepia tint or Photo markers for more elaborate color
9. Experiment with DOUBLE EXPOSURE using multiple negives to create a single image result
10-20 Students will create a properly exposed image that they have made a concious decision to crop or not, they have used the appropriate filter for good contrast, they have corrected by Burning or Dodging any light or dark area, they have chosen to make the image inverted if necessary, or they have solarized if they want, or they have used any of the processes identified above. Students will work towards the goal of completion of 20 well exposed enlargements, 10 successful Write-ups, 10 Images Mounted, 10 Test Strip Grades to pass this class.
