Creating a Photograph by combining 2 Images

Double Exposure

Create a double exposure in a variety of ways:

1. You can make a double exposure print by using 2 enlargers and setting up 2 seperate negatives, 1 in each enlarger. Print on one piece of light sensitive paper in one enlarger then take the latent image to the second enlarger and print atop the original invisible image the second image

2. This process can also be done using Adobe Photoshop and superinposing one image atop the other and reducing the top one's opacity

3. The process can also be done by sandwiching 2 negatives together into one negative carrier in one enlarger.

4. You can also double expose an image by 1st creating an image using a negative, then take the latent image to anohter enlarger and superimpose a photogram atop the original image. See what happens.

The image to the right was produced in the darkroom by printing in 2 seperate enlargers. Set up 2 seperate negatives in different enlargers. Expose ONE piece of paper to the first image then take the same piece opf paper with the latent image to the next enlarger and re-expose it to the second image. See the results.
