Students will work together to plan and paint murals for the school building. If you love to paint on the walls, then this is the club for you! A trip to Yale Art Gallery in the Spring is planned for active members. Meets Thursdays after school until late bus around 4:00 p.m.

Students will read a chosen book. They will have the opportunity to interact and have lively discussion around the text. Will meet once a month starting in November. No December meetings.

Computer Crafts Club carolyn.stanley@reg5.k12.ct.us Students will use the computers for creative projects. They can have their pictures taken and digitally manipulate them, search the web for craft ideas and then make them (ex. bookmarks, magnets, etc.). They will have the opportunity to experiment with such programs as PhotoShop, Illustrator, Flash, DreamWeaver, FireWorks, SketchUp, Google Earth, and a number of others. Guitar Club brennan.orie@reg5.k12.c5.us Students will formally learn famous guitar pieces throughout the history of pop/rock. Through these pieces they will learn the basics of lead and rhythm guitar. Tuesdays at 2:30 p.m.

Running/Cross Country Club erica.gamble@reg5.k12.ct.us We do warm-up exercises and then hit the back roads of Bethany to do some cross-country running of about two miles. No experience necessary! The running club begins in mid to late September, and we run until mid-November. Tuesdays and Thursdays after school until 3:45 p.m.

Woodshop/Woodworking peter.fuller@reg5.k12.ct.us 14 student limit - Participants will first be instructed on general shop and power tool safety. Project work will consist of individualized items that can be brought home by the student (birdhouses, feeders, games, puzzles, CD/DVD racks, etc.) or larger projects that will be donated to the school (picnic tables, benches, etc.) All students will be required to sign injury waiver sheets before admittance. Additional funding may be required for materials and supplies when producing items donated to the school. Tuesdays and Thursdays after school until late bus.
