Managing and Uploading Your Site.
You should set up site management according to the directions. Even if you don't set up a FTP when you first manage the site, you can always go back to Site>Manage Sites and go to Edit.
Below is a screen shot of how I set up the FTP to publish directly from DreamWeaver.
Once you have set up the FTP and tested it, you need to use the panel at the right in DreamWeaver where your site files appear. You need to click on the drop-down arrow beside "Local view" and choose "Remote view." Then press the little blue plug icon to see your files in the remote server window. I removed the files that were there, so I saw a blank folder the first time. Then find the blue arrow pointing upward and press on it, and it should send your whole folder with all the files to the server on amity region 5 where your website will then be active. Anytime you make changes to your site, just follow the same procedure, and DreamWeaver will upload all the files. Obviously, only those you've made changes to will be affected.
For this page, I am not using a table. I am simple inserting the image directly into the page.
I am typing in a layer. I got it by going to Insert>Layout Objectst>Layer.
This is a neat way to put text anywhere you want to place it, even on top of a graphic.
Anyway - for the important stuff. In the screen shot to the left, you can configure your site management by substituting your information for mine.
I have the sheet with how your folders are named in the packet.
Good luckl.
Believe it or not, I just learned how to do this. I've been copying and pasting changed files from my local webpage folder to the live folder for two years now. It works, but this should be easier.
