Welcome to DreamWeaver
This is my first page. I have done a "file-saveas", navigated to the folder I set up prior to opening DreamWeaver, and saved it as "index." This is the convention. Browsers look in a web site folder for the .html file called "index" to load first. Follow this convention.
Notice - I have saved the file as "index." However, I have named it in the Title field - Welcome To DreamWeaver. That will show up in the blue bar when you open the page in Explorer.
I have also typed that right into the web page itself. In fact, I went back and centered it and put a style on it.
If all I wanted was an informational page, this is all I'd have to do. I am typing right into the web page. I can then go to the Properties menu below and choose to format my text changing the font, color, size, alignment, etc. I will demonstrate below.
Keeping your website up to date is important.
Keeping your website up to date is important.
If you keep on typing, the text will wrap just as it does in a word processing document. However, if you hit enter, the text will jump down two lines making a large gap. To make your text go to the next line without leaving a large gap, hold down the "shift" key and then press "enter."
Still, a page configured like this is Boring! So, let's look at using tables to layout text and graphics.
